OBITUARY:
WELL KNOWN SALEM WOMAN PASSES AWAY.
Mrs. Isabella Watt Breyman Leaves Many Friends to Greatly Mourn Her
Mrs. Isabella Watt Breyman died yesterday morning, January 15, 1909 at 11 o’clock at the home at State and High streets. Mrs. Breyman was loved and highly respected by all who knew her. Her husband, who survives, is well known throughout this section of the state and with his brother, Eugene Breyman, who died March 2, 1903, embarked in mercantile business which proved highly successful. The deceased was a woman of great refinement, kind temperament and was essentially a woman of the home. To her family she was ever the kind, loving wife and mother and her home life was of a singularly pure, sweet character. Mrs. Isabella Watt Breyman was born in Mt. Vernon, Ohio, December 1, 1833. Her childhood was spent in Missouri and in 1848, with others of her family crossed the plains and settled in Amity, Yamhill county. In 1853 she was married to Werner Breyman, and a few years thereafter moved to Salem, where she resided until the end. Mrs. Breyman’s brother, Ahio Watt, and sisters, Mrs. Roxanna White, Mrs. Aurora Bowman, and Mrs. Clara Morton, are her survivors in the pioneer Watt family. Werner Breyman, her husband, and three daughters, are left to mourn the loss of a devoted wife and mother. The funeral will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the house. Rev. W. G. Elliott, Unitarian pastor of Portland, formerly of Salem, will officiate.

MRS. WERNER BREYMAN IS LAID TO REST.
MANY FRIENDS ASSEMBLE TO PAY LAST TRIBUTE OF RESPECT TO MEMORY OF DEPARTED FRIEND AND NEIGHBOR.
The funeral services of the late Mrs. Werner Breyman were held yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the family home at State and Cottage streets, Rev. W. G. Elliott of the First Unitarian church of Portland officiating, assisted by the Rev. P. S. Knight of this city, and interment was made in the I. O. O. F. cemetery. In conformity with the quiet dignity of her life was the brief, though beautiful service. Gathered about the flower-laden casket were representatives from nearly every walk of life, who came to pay last tribute of respect to her memory. Rev. Elliott, for many years her pastor in this city, spoke briefly of her life and the many Christian virtues beautifying her character, which was a singularly strong and self reliant one. Such indeed as belonged or was the outcome of the pioneer spirit, undaunted by danger, and courageous through the hardships of Oregon's early days through which Mrs. Breyman passed. By her desire, expressed some time ago, that beautiful Psalm, "The Lord is My Shepard," was recited by the Rev. P. S. Knight, and another request was fulfilled in the exquisite rendition of "The Holy City," by Mrs. C. H. Hinges, who also sang "That Beautiful Island," assisted by Messrs., Anderson and Roth. The service at the grave was the simple and touching "Rose Ritual," by Rev. P. S. Knight, and as the last rose petal slowly settled upon the casket, the hope of the living was directed toward the awakening bloom of spring after the silent night of sleep. Following were pall-bearers: Messrs. Eldridge Prall, Clifford Brown, Wm. Brown, B. H. Dowman and R. P. Boise.
