OBITUARY: 
At the residence, 2255 Trade street, Thursday, February 22, Richard Carlson, aged 71 years. Husband of Belle Carlson, father of Mrs. Merrill W. Ash, grandfather of Lars Carlson Ash, brother of Steve Carlson of Stockholm, Sweden, and Mrs. Anna Lundberg of Storvik, Sweden. He had been a member of Chemeketa lodge No. 1, I.O.O.F., Salem, for 40 years. Also an Artisan. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 23 at 3 p.m., from the W.T. Rigdon and Son mortuary. Interment in I.O.O.F. cemetery with Chemeketa lodge conducting services, Rev. Jones officiating.
