OBITUARY: PIONEER WOMAN INJURED – Mrs. Mary Corner, a pioneer woman of Sellwood, was severely injured a few days ago by falling down the stairs at her home. She was cut over her left eye and sustained several sprains and bruises. She suffered severely from the shock of the fall owing to her advanced age and has been confined to her bed since the accident.

Fall Down Stairs Fatal to Sellwood Woman
Mrs. Mary Corner, widow of the late E. L. Corner, died yesterday morning at her home, 423 Umatilla avenue, from the effects of a fall while climbing the stairs of her home 10 days ago. She had been unconscious most of the time since the accident.
Mrs. Corner was born in Newark, N.J., nearly 83 years ago, of English parentage, and was educated in Gravesville Seminary, graduating in 1856. She was married to Edwin L. Corner September 6, 1858, and in 1866 they crossed the plains with an oxteam, reaching Salem May 2, 1866. In 1882 they moved to Sellwood. Mr. Corner died five years ago. Mrs. Corner was a member of the Rebekah Lodge and the Sellwood Episcopal Church.
