OBITUARY:

At the family home on Marion and Water streets, Salem at 6:45 p.m. Friday, August 23, 1895, Mrs. A. B. Cosper, aged 66 years.
Deceased was born in Beaver county, Pennsylvania, on April 14, 1829, and resided there until her eighteenth year, during which time she suffered the loss of her parents; then she moved to Ohio to make her home with a brother.
On March 17, 1853, at Massillion, Stark county, Ohio, she was united in marriage with A. B. Cosper and they continued to be residents of that state until March, 1862, when they joined the emigration to the far West and ended their journey at Dallas, Polk county. During the next two years they resided there and at Jefferson, in this county, and, lastly, took up their abode in Salem in 1864, at the residence on Marion street.
Mr. Cosper passed to the great beyond in February, 1877, and during his lifework in Salem held several positions of public trust, among which was that of clerk of Marion county. Himself and wife were numbered among the diligent workers in the First Congregational church, he being one of the trustees for a number of years.
Four children are left to mourn the death of a loving mother, being Mrs. A. T. Gilbert, Margaret J. and Chas. E. Cosper of Salem, and Mrs. L. F. Williams of Moscow, Idaho, all of whom were at her bedside when her spirit took its flight to join her husband in their heavenly home.
Mrs. Cosper was taken ill on Tuesday, the 18th, with neuralgia of the stomach, but had so far recovered that she was able to be up and around the following Thursday. A second attack ensued late that evening and she was an intense sufferer, despite the efforts of her physicians, until death came as heretofore stated. The funeral arrangements have not yet been made. However, it is probably that burial will take place tomorrow in the family lot in Rural cemetery.
