OBITUARY: 

Nellie Daphne Cowls Cox, 83, widow of Salem banker Chester Cox, died Monday at a Salem nursing home. Her home was 462 Lincoln St. S. Born in Sidney, Neb., she had lived in Salem since 1911. Her husband, who was with Ladd & Bush bank died in 1939. Surviving is nephew Don Cowls, Livingston, Mont. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Revs. John Power and George Swift officiating. Interment will be in Salem Pioneer Cemetery, under direction of W. T. Rigdon mortuary.
