The DAUE family is listed in various Salem City Directories at the corner of Owens and Saginaw. 
The DAUE HOUSE GIFT SHOP at the northwest corner of Owens and Saginaw S. is currently operated by the Assistance League of Salem and was the home of Alexander Daue and his family at the turn of the century. Descendants of the family owned the home until the 1980's;

OBITUARY: 
DAUE - At the family home in South Salem, Wednesday, Jan. 15, 1896, at 7 a.m., Lester, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Daue. The funeral will be held this afternoon at 1:30 oÂ’clock, Rev. W. E. Copeland, of Unity church, conducting the services.
