OBITUARY: 

Fred Ecker, 82, of 1529 4th St. NE, a retired city employee, died Monday in a Salem hospital following a long illness.
He was born in Texas and had lived in the Salem area about 44 years.  He was employed by the city streets department for about 20 years, retiring about 1950.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Marjorie Underwood, Nubieber, Calif.; two granddaughters and one great-grandson.
Services will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in the V. T. Golden Funeral Chapel, with Reb. Glenn W. Sachs officiating.  Interment will be in Pioneer Cemetery.
