OBITUARY: 
Man Injured In January Accident Dies
William Lee Ecker, 49, died Monday at a Salem Hospital from injuries suffered last Jan. 6 when he was struck by a car near Corvallis.
Accounts to police indicated Ecker was sprawled beside his own vehicle on Highway 99W when struck by a car driven by Vernon Jesse Sumner, Portland.  Ecker had been hospitalized since the accident.
A late resident of 1529 4th street NE, Ecker had been a Salem resident for about 45 years.  He was born Sept 22, 1908 at Franklin, Okla.
He formerly was emplyed as a truck driver for Gidon Stolz bottling firm and at time of the accident was an employee of Paulus cannery.  During World War II he served in the Merchant Marines.
Surviving are his father, Fred Ecker, Salem; and a sister, Mrs. Marjorie Underwood, Adin, Calif.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Virgil T. Golden Chapel.
