DEATH CERTIFICATE: 
OBITUARY: 

At the home of H. E. Chipman, at Yaquina City, Saturday, July 27, 1895, 7 p.m., Sophie Elgin, aged 17 years.
Deceased was a daughter of James H. and Josephine Elgin, old residents of the southern portion of this county, and sister of Mrs. W. A. Moores of Yew Park.
Her illness was of three weeks duration, being inflammation of the stomach, and by her demise another family deeply mourns the loss of one of its fairest members. She was of very sweet disposition and gifted accomplishments, which made her a favorite with a large number of friends and acquaintances.
The remains will be brought to Salem tomorrow on the 2:20 train and interment will be in Rural cemetery.
