OBITUARY: GONE to HER REST -- Mrs. Orpha Cranston Farmer Died in Portland-- The Remains Will Reach Salem This Forenoon and Interment Will Be Had in the Odd Fellows' Cemetery, Where Brief Services Will Be Held.--Mrs. Orpha Cranston Farmer, aged 46 years, died at her home in Portland, No. 1213 Williams avenue, Piedmont, at 10 o'clock a.m., Thursday, January 2d, after a brief illness, of pneumonia. Mrs. Farmer was the beloved wife of Rev. J. P. Farmer, formerly of this city, and the daughter of Mrs. Warren Cranston, also a former resident of this city, but now residing with her son Charles Cranston, of Pendleton.
The funeral services were held at the residence in Portland, at 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon, and the remains will arrive in this city on the 11 o'clock train this morning. The funeral procession will be formed at the depot and proceed to the Odd Fellows cemetery, where interment will be had. Rev. W. C. Kantner, D. D., will conduct a short ceremony at the cemetery.
