OBITUARY: 
At the home of her daughter, Mrs. L. R. White, 1325 West Fifth street, Eugene, Saturday Jan. 2, Minnie Carter Fitzhugh, wife of John R. Fitzhugh, and the mother of Vera J. Fitzhugh of Independence, and Mrs. L. R. White of Eugene. Funeral services today, Tuesday, Jan. 5, 1925, at the Baptist church, Independence. Rev. Thomas Acheson, pastor of the Jason Lee M. E. church of Salem, and Rev. Sylvester Cross, pastor of the Independence Baptist church, officiating. Committal services at IOOF cemetery at 3 p.m. Arrangements in charge of A. L. Keeney, funeral director of Independence.

Mrs. Minnie Carter Fitzhugh, wife of John R. Fitzhugh, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs L. R. White, at Eugene, January 2. 
Funeral services were held at the Baptist church January 5 at 1:30 p.m., Rev. Thomas Atchison, pastor of Jason Lee church, Salem, officiating, assisted by Rev S. L. Cross, and in charge of Funeral Director Keeney. Interment was made in the Odd Fellows cemetery, Salem. 
Mrs. Fitzhugh was a member of the Jason Lee church, the Monmouth grange and the Women’s Relief Corps at some point in California. 
She was born in Iowa February 26, 1871 and was married to Mr. Fitzhugh in Iowa. They came to Salem seven years ago, and two years ago went to the Airlie country where Mr. Fitzhugh purchased a large ranch. Last fall they came to Independence and had since resided just northwest of town. 
Beside her husband, Mrs. Fitzhugh is survived by two daughters: Mrs. White of Eugene and Miss Vesta J. Fitzhugh.
