OBITUARY:
Belle Fleming Dies; Funeral Set Thursday
Mrs. Belle Fleming, a native of Salem who lived her entire life in the Willamette valley, died Saturday at a local hospital after a two-year illness. She was 81.
Belle Denny was born here May 17, 1868, the daughter of Henry and Martha Denny, a pioneer northwest family. She attended Salem schools and was married to Murray Fleming, who died about 12 years ago.
Mrs. Fleming, who lived many years at 767 N. Liberty st., is survived by a sister, Mrs. Hemny Lee, Salem; a niece, Mrs. Wallace Hug, Salem; and a nephew, Donald G. Tarpley, Darien, Conn.
Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the IOOF cemetery. The Rev. Walter Naff will officiate with direction by W. T. Rigdon company.
