DEATH CERTIFICATE: 
OBITUARY: 
At Portland, Oregon, Nov. 30, 1914, William Foss. The remains will be brought to Salem and the funeral services will be held upon the arrival of two sons from eastern Oregon. The burial will take place in the I.. O. O. F. cemetery Deceased was a pioneer of Oregon having come west with his parents some time in the early forties. The family took up a donation land claim in Howell Prairie adjoining that of Captain S. N. English, an early arrival in the state and grandfather of the deceased. In his youth Mr. Foss was active in the agricultural life of the Willamette valley. 
In 1860 or 1870 he was engaged in the livery business in Salem. For the past few years his health had been failing and he made his home with a daughter, Mrs. Ralph Duncan, in Portland. He will be remembered by many of the old settlers throughout the county.
