Chipman of 300 E. 22nd St.
OBITUARY: 
ELGIN -- At the residence of her daughter, Mrs. B. E. Chopman [Chipman] in Portland, early Friday, November 3, Mrs. Josephine Humphrey Elgin, mother of Charles, Harry, Clifford and George Elgin of Salem, Mrs. H. H. Hewitt of Albany, Mrs. H. E. Chipman of Portland and Mrs. H. E. Craven of Redondo Beach, California.  The body will be brought to Salem for funeral services and interment.  Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. from the Charles F. Elgin residence, 246 South Cottage St.  Interment in I.O.O.F. cemetery, Rigdon & Son, directors.

Mrs. Josephine H. Elgin
Mrs. Josephing Humphrey Elgin of Salem, Or., died yesterday at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Harry E. Chipman, 300 East Twenty-second street, in this city.
Mrs. Elgin was born March 9, 1841, in Tennessee. After coming west with her parents they settled first in Linn county, and it was there that she attended school. She was a widow of the late James H. Elgin.
Mrs. Elgin is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Harry E. Chipman and Mrs. Emma Craven of Portland and Mrs. H. H. Hewitt of Albany, Or., and four sons, Charles F., George M., Harry W., and W. Clifford Elgin of Salem.
The body will be sent to Salem today for interment.
