DISCREPANCY - marker gives year of birth as May 1868, 1900 census as Nov 1867.
DEATH CERTIFICATE: 
OSBH DC (Polk County 1938) #96; Frank was born in West Salem, Marion Co., Oregon to Samuel Gibson, born in Missouri and Ellen Hirons, born in Illinois.  He was married to Cora B. Gibson, who was also the informant, and they lived at Rout 1 Box 4 West Salem. Buried 29 July 1938 by W. T. Rigdon Company at IOOF Cemetery.
OBITUARY: 
Frank Gibson, 70, Polk Native Dies
Frank Gibson, native of Polk county and well-known in the Willamette valley, died early yesterday at the age of 70 years at his home on route one, West Salem.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday from the W. T. Rigdon chapel with Lodge No. 50, AF & AM officiating. He was also a member of the Elks lodge.
Mr. Gibson was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Gibson, pioneers of 1852 who settled on the Gibson homestead in Polk county. His father was once a member of the state legislature.
Mr. Gibson had been retired for the past three years due to ill health, but was manager of the Producers' cannery here for 17 years.  He leaves the widow, Cora B. Gibson.

At the residence, West Salem, route one, July 27, Frank Gibson, aged 70 years. Husband of Cora B. Gibson. Funeral services will be held from the W. T. Rigdon chapel Friday, July 29, at 1:30 p.m. with lodge No. 50, AF & AM officiating. Interment IOOF cemetery.
