DEATH CERTIFICATE: 

OSBH DC (Marion 1944) #157 - James P. Giles was born on July 30, 1880 in Texas, His father's name was Pierce Giles, and mother's maiden name was Ragland. His usual residence in Salem was at 1474 N. Summer St, and he died on April 22, 1944. Informant was his wife, Mary.

OBITUARY: 

James P. Giles, at the residence, 1747 North Summer street, April 22. Survived by widow, Mrs. Mary Giles of Salem, two sons, George and Hobart, both of Longview, Wash., two brothers, Robin and Wayland of Texas and two sisters, Mrs. Ruby Ellis and Mrs. Ida Gilman of Texas, also four grandchildren. Services were held Monday, April 24, at 10:30 a.m. from the Clough-Barrick chapel. Interment at IOOF cemetery. Dr. Irving A. Fox officiating.
