OBITUARY: 
At the residence of her son-in-law, G. W. Putnam, on the northeast corner of Center and Cottage streets, Salem, at 2 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 18, 1896. Mrs. Marguerite Harpool [sic], aged 69 years, 2 months and 13 days. 
Deceased was an early settler of Oregon having crossed the plains along with many others of the pioneers who sought new homes in the West. Her husband died about seven years ago and is buried in Rural cemetery and tomorrow at 11 a.m. her remains will be laid to rest beside him. The funeral will be held at Mr. PutnamÂ’s residence at 10:30 a.m., Rev. J. Bowersox officiating.
