OBITUARY: 
Irene Scott Hatfield, at the residence, 360 N. Capitol st., May 30, at the age of 71 years. 
Survived by husband, Don C. Hatfield of Salem; two sons, Clive Scott and Eldon Scott, both of Salem; sister, Mrs. Ora Isbel of Pasadena, Calif.; brother, George Poage of Lebanon, and five grandchildren. Member of the Rebekah lodge and First Christian church. Services will be held Thursday, June 2, at the First Christian church at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Dudley Strain officiating. Interment in the IOOF cemetery under the direction of the Howell-Edwards chapel.

FUNERAL RITES FOR MRS. IRENE HATFIELD SET FOR THURSDAY 
Funeral services for Mrs. Irene Scott Hatfield, who died Monday at her home here, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in First Christian church, under direction of Howell-Edwards company. The Rev. Dudley Strain will officiate. Mrs. Hatfield was born July 12, 1877, in Exira, Iowa, the daughter of James and Margaret S. Poage. She was married April 24, 1944, to Don C. Hatfield, who survives. 
She had been in ill health for nearly a year. Mrs. Hatfield was a member of the First Christian church and the Rebekah lodge. Other survivors are two sons, Olive and Eldon Scott, both of Salem; sister, Mrs. Ora Isbel of Pasadena, Calif.; brother George Poage of Lebanon, and five grandchildren.
