1900 OR CENSUS - Elizabeth Herren, age 66, widowed, mother of 7 children 2 of whom are living at the time of the census, b. Jun 1843 in Ohio.  Also enumerated in her home are two grandchildren, Effie Herren, age 20, single, b. Oct 1879 in Oregon, and John C., age 16, b. Dec 1883 in Oregon.

Pennsylvania), maiden name of mother unknown, occupation - housewife, interment IOOF 22 Nov 1910, undertaker - Lehman & Clough, informant Theodore Herron of Rt. 7, Salem, Oregon.
OBITUARY: 
At the family home near the Garden Road, Salem, Oregon, Sunday, November 20, 1910, Mrs. J. C. Herren, aged 78 years. The deceased was a pioneer resident of Salem, and is survived by one son, Theodore Herren, of Salem, and one daughter, Mrs. I. T. Moore, of McMinnville. 
The children died within three days of each other several years ago, from diphtheria. They were aged 15, 18, and 19 years, while another daughter, Mrs. Silas Fletcher, passed away soon after. The funeral will be held from the home at 10 o'clock today (Tuesday) and interment will be made in I. O. O. F. cemetery.
