1910 OR CENSUS - Hannah Herrling, age 47, mother of 8 children 7 of whom are living at the time of the census, b. Wisconsin, is enumerated with her husband of 28 years, Franklin Herrling, age 49, occupation farmer, b. Wisconsin,  along with Alvin, age 26, Bertha, age 20, Edwin, age 18, Alfred, age 15, and Benjamin, age 12, all born in Oregon.
1930 OR CENSUS  - Hannah Herrling, age 68, b. Wisconsin (both parents b. Germany), is eumerated with husband Franklin, age 69, b. Wisconsin (both parents b. Germany); Marriage - "Franklin Herrling, over 21 & Hanna(h) Mathes, over 18, m 03 Jan 1882 at house of E. H. Stege: J. Meulhaupt, M. G. Wit: E. H. & Louise Stege #2663 pg 315".

BIOGRAPHICAL (Source - Franklin Herrling, 2009):
Hannah was born 12 May 1861 in the Town of Russell, Sheboygn Co., Wisconsin.  Her father Jacob Mathes, was born in Undenheim, Hassen, Germany on January 3, 1830.  Her mother, Gertrude Schaetzel, was born 1835.
Hannah married Franklin Herrling 3 Jn 1882.  She had five sons and four daughters and they homesteaded in Stayton, Oregon.  They moved to Salem, Oregon and she died 29 Aug 1933.

OSBH DC (Marion County 1933) #648 - Hannah Herrling, female, married (Franklin Herrling), housewife, b. 12 May 1861, d. 29 Aug 1933 in Salem, Oregon (2345 Rex St.) at the age of 72 y's 3 m's 17 d's, name of father Jacob Mathes (b. Germany), name of mother Gertrude (b. Wisconsin), interment 1 Sep IOOF, undertaker Clough-Barrick, informant Franklin Herrling of Salem.
OBITUARY: 
Mrs. Hannah Herrling at the residence, 2245 Rex street, August 29, aged 72 years. Survived by widower, Franklin Herrling; a sister, Mrs. Emma Newman, Pendleton, four sons, Alfred and Benjamin of Bend, Otto and Edmond of Maupin; two daughters, Mrs. Amanda Apple of Albany, and Mrs. Peter Riesch of Maupin. Funeral services from the chapel of Clough-Barrick company, 2 p.m. Friday, September 2. Interment I.O.O.F. cemetery.
