1880 OR CENSUS - O. Hutton, age 24, b. Oregon, occupation foundry moulder, is enumerated with wife S. E., age 22, b. Oregon, along with 3 children, M. W. (dau), age 4, R. H. (son), age 2, E. C. (son), age 4 months, all born in Oregon, and a sister-in-law, B. F. Barker, age 20, b. Oregon.

Hutton, (b. Indiana), maiden name of mother J. Smack (b. Indiana), interment 12 Jan, undertaker Webb & Clough, informant Mrs. Ben Olcott of Salem.
OBITUARY: 
Owen D. Hutton passed away at the home of his son, Harry D. Hutton of Salem, Jan. 10, 1923, at 7 a.m. Mr. Hutton was 66 years old and has been a prominent resident of Salem all his life. He is survived by his widow, Sarah E. Hutton, one sister, Mrs. Linnie Harbin of Waterloo, and three children, Mrs. Oswald West of Portland, Mrs. Ben Olcott of Salem and Mr. Harry R. Hutton of Salem. Funeral services will be held in the Webb & Clough chapel Friday, January 12, at 2 p.m. Rev. Kantner will conduct the services. Interment will be in the I.O.O.F cemetery. The remains are at the home of Harry R. Hutton.

OWEN HUTTON PASSES BEYOND. 
Former Salem Councilman Dies After Days Illness; Funeral Friday. 
Owen D. Hutton, for many years a resident of Salem and Marion county, died at his home in Salem yesterday morning at 6:30 following an illness of one day. He was born in Marion county, near Silverton, April 6, 1856, and was more than 66 years old at the time of his death. Mr. Hutton’s parents were pioneers in Oregon. Besides his widow he is survived by three children, Mrs. Oswald West of Portland, Mrs. Ben W. Olcott and Harry Hutton of Salem. The funeral will be held from Webb & Clough’s chapel Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock. Mr. Hutton was for more than 23 years connected with the Salem Iron works and belonged to Tiger Engine company No. 2 of the volunteer fire department, and was made chief of the paid fire department in 1896, serving for three years. Mr. Hutton was for six years a member of the city council from the fourth ward. He was married Christmas day, 1874, to Sarah E. Barker, who survives him. A sister, Mrs. Linnie Harbin of Waterloo also survives. Oregon Statesman 11 Jan 1923 2:1-3

Interment in the IOOF cemetery.
