OBITUARY:
BARKUS--Mrs. Mary C. Barkus died at her home at 215 Kearney street, Dec. 15, 1922, 2:40 a.m. Mrs. Barkus, who was 66 years old, is survived by her widower, Mr. E. T. Barkus, two sons, Walter A. and Pearl M. Barkus of Salem, one daughter, Maud M. Tweed of Salem; three brothers, J. R. Anderson of Salem, Jack and Fred Anderson of Kansas; and two sisters, Mrs. Axley of Salem and Ida Wilgus of Kansas. Funeral servuces will be held in the Leslie M. E. church, dec. 16, 1922, at 2 P.m. Rev. Pemberton will conduct the services and interment will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery. All arrangements in charge of Webb & Clough.
