OBITUARY:
SUICIDE'S IDENTITY IS NOT YET KNOWN
Coroner L. E. Barrick last night was momentarily expecting word from Seattle authorities regarding the possible identity of a man of late middle age who was found dead, shot through the forehead and believed the victom of his own revolver, in Willson park early Sunday morning. It was unlikely, he said, the any inquest would be held.
Police were notified by Cornelius Moynihan, 475 South 18th street, who found the body leaning against a tree near the Waite fountain as he passed through the park on his way to church. It was believed the unidentified man had been dead four or five hours. The coroner and police declared that suicide, rather than murder was indicated. A .32 caliber revolver of Spanish make was clasped in the right hand of the dead man. Four pennies lay strewn on the ground nearby, with the man's trouser pockets turned inside out. A chain, without a watch, hung from the vest. The only hope of identification apparently rested in laundry and trade markes on the man's clothing, and the fingerprints. The clothing of high quality, bore Seattle labels. The man's shirt, undergarments and socks were freshly laundered, leading police to believe he might have left luggage and soiled clothing in a rooming house here, but a check of these places failed to reveal unclaimed articles of this nature.

MAN FOUND DEAD HERE IDENTIFIED
Identification of the man found dead in Willson park last Sunday morning was made positive yesterday afternoon by C. S. Vaughn of Portland as J. E. Kennedy of Billings, Mont., city police announced. Vaughn had made Kennedy's acquaintance at the Traves hotel, 11th and Start streets, Portland, where belongings of Kennedy have been found. Kennedy, according to Vaughn, registered at the hotel August 25 and last Friday talked of attending the state fair here.
At the coroner's office last night it was stated that telegrams would be sent today to Billings in an attempt to locate relatives of the dead man and also to make fully certain, if possible, of the identification. City police, in reply to Mrs. James Tomlison of Seattle, yesterday telegraphed that the man here apparently was not her brother, as she feared.
