OBITUARY: 
POSTPONEMENT -- Owing to the serious illness of Mrs. Thos. King, the entertainment and ball as arranged to take place at Reed’s opera house Friday evening, Dec. 19th, is hereby postponed until further notice. Cards now out will be good when the affair comes off, due and timely notice of which will be given. Resp’y, O. D. Hutton.

KING -- At the family residence, 4811 Court street, Wednesday, Dec. 17, 1890, at 4:40 a.m., Margaret A., wife of Thomas King, aged 40 years, 11 months, and 8 days. The deceased was born on the ninth day of January 1850, at New Concord, Ohio. In 1865 she, with her parents, moved to Des Moines, Iowa, and on April 30, 1868, she became the wife of Thomas King. Six children have been born to them and looked to her for a mother’s care and protection. 
In 1873 she and her husband came to Salem, where their residence has since been. Her father and mother have both preceded her in death and are laid to rest in the Rural cemetery, beside of which her remains will be interred tomorrow afternoon. 
Among the brothers and sisters left to mourn her loss are J. M. Patterson, of the Dalles, and Mrs. Geo. Brown of Portland. They are deeply sympathized in their bereavement by a large circle of friends. On the 9th ultimo, the deceased gave birth to a son and this was followed by an attack of pneumonia which was the immediate cause of her death. 
The funeral will take place at the residence tomorrow afternoon at 2 o’clock, Rev. Gwynne conducting the services. The pallbearers will be J. H. Albert, J. A. Van Eaton, J. W. Crawford, O. D. Hutton, T. G. Perkins, and John Moir.
