DEATH CERTIFICATE:
OBITUARY:
At their home in South Salem, Wednesday evening, August 28, 1895, Annie M., wife of E. Marion Kightlinger, aged 33 years, 2 months, 1 day.
Deceased was taken ill with neuralgia of the stomach the first week in July and never fully recovered. After a few weeks her physicians discovered that an abscess had formed and a surgical operation became necessary. This she underwent heroically in her weak condition and seemed to recover from the shock nicely and to progress toward good health, until last Friday when she had a sinking spell which alarmed the family and since then her condition has been very weak. In another of those sinking spells her eternal sleep came at 6:30 last evening.
Her maiden name was Flemming and she is a native of Pennsylvania, but has lived in Salem since quite young. She was married to Mr. Kightlinger here in 1879 and besides her husband leaves two daughters - Ethel, aged 15 years, and Lena, aged 12 years, whose grief and loss are beyond the calculation of any person who has not experienced like affliction.
Mrs. Kightlinger’s relatives reside at Dallas, Texas, and were telegraphed the sad intelligence last night. Funeral arrangements have not been made yet. Mrs. Kightlinger was a kind hearted neighbor, ever willing and anxious to help in sickness or distress. She was zealous and industrious in all her undertakings and will be sadly missed by her associates. She was a member of the Catholic church and an earnest worker in its aid society; she was also a member of the Degree of Honor.
