Lawson, male, widowed, occupation laborer, b. 22 Aug 1853 in Boliver [Bolivar], Missouri, d. 13 Jul 1926 in Salem, Oregon (Rt 1 Box 67) at the age of 72 y's 10 m's 21 d's, name of parents not known by informant, interment (note- DC says burial to be at Lee Mission Cemetery) 16 Jul, undertaker Terwilliger, informant E. H. Coffey of Rt. 1 Box 67. Additonal statement (on reverse of DC) by Dr. Matthis, "The patient, deceased, with his daughter and her husband were camped at Chris Yunger's residence picking berries. They have lived in Wenatchee, Wash., and are going to California. They have no main address. Piru, California is the place they are going to."

Aug 1852 in Missouri, is enumerated with his wife of 23 years, Mary M., age 42, mother of 9 children 7 of whom are living at the time of the census, b. Sep 1857 in Tennessee, along with William E., age 19, b. May 1881 in Texas, Delphie M., age 17, b. Feb 1883 in Texas, Drucila A., age 14, b. Dec 1885 in Missouri, James R., age 12, b. Mar 1888 in Missouri, Gertie L., age 4, b. 1896 in Missouri,  Richard A., age 5, b. 1894 in Missouri, and John O., age 2, b. in Missouri.

James R. Lawson, July 13, route 1, two miles south of Hopewell, aged 73 years. Survived by two daughters, Mrs. Gertrude Coffey, of Wenatchee, Wash., and Mrs. Drucella Brown of Rosalia, Wash., four sons, Will of Missouri, John of Illinois, Roy and Asbury of Piree, Cal. Funeral from Terwilliger home Saturday at 10 a. m. Rev. J. J. Gillespie officiating. Interment at IOOF cemetery.
