OBITUARY: 

Mabel Adair Lockwood late resident of 8234 North Chautauqua Blvd., Portland, died on June 17th, at the age of 94.
Survived by a son C. Adair Lockwood, Portland. Funeral services Thurs. June 23, at 3:30 p.m. Chapel of W.T. RIGDON CO. with interment in Salem Pioneer cemetery. Rev. W. Carl Calhoun officiating.
She was a charter member of the Daughters of the Union Veterans Barbara Frietchie chapter, was secretary for over ten years of Sedgwick Post #10 GAR. For over 70 years she was a member of Chadwick Chapter #37 OES. She was a charter member and Past President of Salem Chapter, American War Mothers. She was National President of American War Mothers. The silk tree now on the Capitol grounds was dedicated to her by the American War Mothers. She graduated from Willamette University in 1892 and was the only surviving member of her graduating class.
