BAKER, Mrs. Lulu (Johnson) Relieved of Her Suffering
Mrs. Lulu Baker Departs This Life After Lingering Illness. 
Mrs. Lulu Baker, wife of Frank A. Baker, passed away at her home on East Chemeketa street, yesterday morning, after an illness extending back over a period of several years, during which she was a constant sufferer from dropsy. 
Deceased was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Johnson, and at the time of her death was aged 34 years. She had spent the greater portion of her life in this city where she made many warm friends who are deeply grieved over her untimely death. Mrs. Baker was an accomplished young woman and highly respected by all whose good fortune it was to share her acquaintance. 
She leaves a husband and child, besides many relatives to mourn her departure, and the sympathy of the entire community is extended to the bereaved family. The funeral arrangements will be completed today and will be announced in tomorrow morning's issue of the Statesman.

Funeral this Afternoon -- The funeral of Mrs. Frank Baker, deceased, who died on Wednesday, will be held at the first Christian church this, Friday, afternoon, at 2 o'clock conducted by Elder D. Errett, and the remains will be interred in the Odd Fellows' Rural cemetery.

Card of Thanks -- Mr. F. A. Baker and daughter and Mr. Geo. W. Johnson and family desire to express their appreciation of the many acts of kindness shown by the people of Salem during the sickness and the ceremonies attending the funeral of Mrs. Baker. The many floral offerings were gratefully received and with the other evidences of sympathy will always be remembered by them in tenderness as they recall the sorrow through which they have recently passed.
