She died at the Coffey Clinic in Portland, she was a music teacher at the Girls Polytechnic school, and aged 68 years 8 months.  Informant was C. W. Stevens, and burial in Old City Cemetery, Salem, Oregon by J. P. Finley & Son.

E., age 17, Jas K., age 14, Frank, age 13, Mary, age 11, Geo W., age 9, Ione J., age 7, Albert G., age 5, Wesley B., age 3, all born in Oregon. Also enumerated with the family is Alice Malone, age 14, b. Oregon (adopted is written in with a line drawn through it).

OBITUARY: 
MINNETTA MAGERS, Leader in Musical Circles, Is Dead.  
Miss Minnetta Magers, 68, supervisor of music at Girls Polytechnic school since 1919 and for many years a vocal instructor, died Wednesday. She retired from active musical work in January. Born on September 25, 1869, at Gervais, Oregon, she later moved to Salem, where she taught music in the grade schools. In 1906, after a period spent in study in Chicago, she graduated from the Chicago School of Music, returning to Salem, where she supervised high school music from 1908 to 1915. She also maintained a vocal studio. In 1916 she came to Portland, where she established vocal studios and in 1919 was named music supervisor of Girls Polytechnic. 
Miss Magers was the sister of the late Judge J. E. Magers. She is survived by a sister, Mrs. W. Sherman Thompson. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Finley's chapel with burial in Salem city cemetery. Oregon Journal 26 May 1938 12:1 (with photo) 

MINETTA MAGERS, MUSIC TEACHER, DIES.  
Word was received today telling of the death of Miss Minetta Magers in Portland Wednesday after a long illness. Miss Magers was considered one of the outstanding music teachers in the state and was long a resident of Salem. For the past several years Miss Magers had lived in Portland and was a member of the Girl's Polytechnic school faculty. Her Treble Clef club had won much recognition in musical circles. Miss Magers taught for many years in the Salem public schools before opening her voice studio. She was educated a Willamette university and later took advanced work in Chicago. Miss Magers was instrumental in bringing such artists a Melba, Gluck, Zimbalist and others to the capital in earlier days and was also prominent in organizng women's choral groups. Graveside services will be held in the Salem I. O. O. F. cemtery Saturday, May 28, at 2 p.m., under the direction of the J. P. Finley & Son Co.

Funeral services will be held Saturday 10:30 a.m. at Finley's Morninglight Chapel, S.W. Montgomery at Fourth. Friends invited. Commitment Old City cemetery, Salem, 2 o'clock Saturday.

MAGERS--Minetta M., Coffey clinic, May 25, 68 years, mesenteric thrombosis. -unidentified newspaper clipping. The Oregonian also published an obituary on 27 May 1938, but it was not readable in microfilm. 

MISS MAGERS DIES, FUNERAL SATURDAY
Miss Minetta Magers, music teacher who formerly taught in Salem schools and maintained a voice studio here, died in Portland Wednesday following a long illness. Graveside services will be held in IOOF cemetery at Salem Saturday at 2 p.m., directed by J. P. Finley & Sons company. Recognized as one of the outstanding music teachers in Oregon, Miss Magers was educated at Willamette university, later taking advanced work in Chicago. She was instrumental in bringing such artists to Salem as Melba, Gluck, and Zimbalist, in earlier days, and organized several women's choruses here. For several years she lived at Portland where she taught at Girls' Polytechnic and was active in Treble Clef club work.

MINNETTA MAGERS' BURIAL SET HERE.  
Minetta M. Magers, former Salem music teacher who died at Portland May 25, was born at Gervais, September 25, 1869. She received her education at Willamette university and following studies at Chicago opened a voice instruction studio here. She was active in organization of early Salem women's choruses and instrumental in bringing such artists here inconert as Gluck, Melba and Zimbalist. She was a sister of the late Judge J. E. Magers, Portland, and included among her surviving relatives are three nieces in Salem, Miss Rozella Woodington, Miss Lula Herman and Mrs. Stella Lenon. The funeral will be held today at 10 a.m. from J. P. Finley & Son's chapel, Portland. Miss Magers will be buried here at 2 p.m.
