REMAINS OF W. B. MAGERS LAID AWAY TO REST YESTERDAY.
The funeral services over the remains of W. B. Magers, who died in the Good Samaritan Hospital, at Portland, at 9 o'clock last Thursday evening of appendicitis, was held at the home of his mother, Mrs. M. J. Magers, at 1 o'clock yesterday afternoon, conducted by Rev. F. W. Cliffe, of the First Baptist church, and the remains were laid to their final rest in the Odd Fellows cemetery under the auspices of the Woodmen of the World, he having been a member in good standing of the Stayton lodge of that order.
The deceased was a native of this county, and was quite well known here, where he was held in great esteem. He was born in Silverton, and was raised and received his education here. For three years past he has been in business at Shaniko, Sherman county, up to the time of his illness, when he was removed to the hospital at Portland. An operation was performed on Monday, but the case was too far advanced and he could not recover.
Besides his mother, Mrs. M. J. Magers, of this city, he leaves five brothers and four sisters to mourn his untimely demise. J. P. Magers, of Dallas; F. M., of Sissons, Cal.; G. W., of Salem; and Judge J. E., of Portland, and the sisters, Miss Minetta, Salem; Mrs. S. Thompson, Harrington, Washington; Miss Sarah, of Silverton, and Miss Mary, of Phoenix, Arizona.
