OBITUARY:
DIED--In Salem, March 3d, 1872, Mary, wife of Mr. J. N. Matheny, aged 35 years. She leaves a kind and loving husband and eight children to mourn her untimely end. She had suffered much for over a week before her death, but hopes of her recovery were entertained until about Saturday. Mr. Matheny has the kindest sympathies of a large circle of friends in this affliction. The loss of a mother from such a household cannot be told in words, but the absence of a mother's love from any home is an affliction which only those can understand who suffer it. The funeral will take place at the house today at 11 o'clock a.m., and the Rev. I. D. Driver will officiate. All friends of the family are invited to be present.
