OBITUARY:
Albany - John Arthur McClain, 76, who was struck by an automobile in Albany, March 4, died at the Albany General hospital Friday as the result of injuries sustained in the accident. McClain was born in Barry, Adams county, Ill., August 29, 1859 and was married to Julia Baird of the same place July 30, 1889. They came to Oregon in 1903 from Nebraska where they had lived for several years. They lived on Salem Heights south of Salem for 25 years. Mrs. MccClain died in 1929. Two sons and one daughter survive, also 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The sons are Doe and Leonard McClain, Albany; and the daughter is Mrs. Oral Cosson, Wasco. Funeral services are to be held Tuesday in Albany with burial in the I. O. O. F. cemetery at Salem. Graveside services will be held in Salem at 3:30 p. m.
