McCOURT - Veva B. of 1307 SW Broadway; mother of John B. McCourt, grandmother of Mrs. Nancy Steinehen and John McCourt; 6 great-grandchildren. Services Tuesday, 12 noon at Caldwell's Colonial Mortuary, Sandy Blvd at 14th. Graveside services 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Pioneer Cemetery, Portland [sic 0- Salem].

Mrs Veva R. McCourt, 85, a former resident of Salem, died Saturday at her home in Portland. She was born Nov 25, 1879 in Salem and was the daughter of Wilbur Fiske Boothby, who was state architect in Salem in the early 1900’s. She was the widow of Jon McCourt, Oregon Supreme Court justice from 1921-1924. She had been a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. Survivors include a son John, Portland, regional counsel for the US Small Business Administration and former Multnomah County district attorney, and two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral will be noon today at Caldwell’s Colonial Mortuary, Portland, with graveside services at 2:30 pm at Pioneer Cemetery in Salem.
