1870 OR CENSUS - Sarah Chapman, age 15, b. Oregon, is enumerated with C. P. Chapman, age 59, b. Illinois, occupation minister, and Eliza, age 50, b. Virginia, along with siblings Caleb A., age 18, b. Oregon, occupation mason, and John A., age 16, b.. Oregon.

OBITUARY: 
Mrs. Sadie McFadden Dies at Her Home in This City. Mrs. 
Sadie McFadden, 63 years old, died yesterday morning at 4:15 o’clock at her home, 449 North Capitol Street. Death was due to pneumonia. Funeral services will be held at 10 o’clock tomorrow morning from the Rigdon chapel with Rev. Leland W. Porter of the First Christian church conducting the services. Interment will be in Odd Fellows cemetery. Mrs. McFadden was born on Howell Prairie in 1860 on a donation land claim taken up by her father, who was a pioneer minister of the Christian church and who crossed the plains in 1818. At one time he was pastor of the Salem church. During several sessions of the legislature Mrs. McFadden served as clerk for different delegations and at the last session was with the Washington county delegation. Mrs. McFadden leaves among surviving relatives two sons, Gilbert McFadden, of Portland and Allen R. McFadden of San Francisco and a sister, Mrs. Fannie Jackson of Salem.
