1850 MO CENSUS - Minor M. Mead, age 27, occupation wood chopper, b. Virginia, is enumerated with Minerva, age 29, b. Missouri, along with Sarah, age 6 months, b. Missouri. [They are living next door to Minverva's parents, Absalom and Sarah Greenstreet] 
1880 OR CENSUS - M. M. Mead, age 58, occupation laborer, b. Virginia, is enumerated with Minerva, age 59, b. Missouri. 
BIOGRAPHICAL: 
"After moving from Sublimity, we came in contact with some queer and picturesque people. There was old Minor Meed [sic], the well digger, who could quote Shakespeare by the whole chapter, an inoffensive never-do-well, always on the verge of poverty, ragged and dirty, his children half clad, but he was always happy and in good humor."

DEATH CERTIFICATE: 
OBITUARY: 
MEAD--At Oregon City, at 10:30 p.m., Friday, March 1, 1894, from paralysis, Mirror (sic) M. Mead, aged 71 years. Deceased was a resident of Salem up to about two years ago, when he went to Oregon City to reside with his son-in-law, Griff W. Jones. Deceased was the father of James Mead, formerly chief of police of Salem and also a drayman here. He came to Oregon from Missouri in 1851. The funeral will be from the 11:17 train this morning, the interment being in the Rural cemetery.
