OBITUARY:
On Wednesday, May 19, 1897, at the home of Mrs. A. A. Wheeler, 335 Liberty street, Salem, Oregon, Miss Mary S. Meek, of Multnomah county, aged 46 years. Miss Meek’s illness was of long duration and was attributed to cancer. She came to Salem some weeks ago in the hope of finding relief from her dread malady, but relief was denied her and she succumbed early yesterday afternoon. An only sister, Mrs. W. Love, of Sylvan, has been notified of her demise and the remains will be shipped thence today.
