OBITUARY: EUGENE - Lewis Byron Melson, Jr., 38, a television actor and Eugene resident, died Friday.
He was born in Charleston, S. C., where his father was stationed in the Navy. In 1968 he graduated from the University of Oregon. He most recently was featured in a Miller's High Life TV commercial.
Survivors include his parents, Lewis and Mary Melson, Sr., Annapolis, Md., sisters, Mary Sue London, Towson, Md., and Margaret Katherine Parson, Crofton, Md.
His grandfather, Roy S. Melson, was a Marion County commissioner and owner of a farm in Keizer. His great-grandfather, James A. Melson, helped build the First Methodist Church in Salem.
Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Thursday at Salem Pioneer Cemetery. Barrick Mortuary, Salem, is in charge. Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
