BIOGRAPHICAL:
HAZING RESULT SERIOUS
Harry Minto of Salem Feared to Have Contracted Pneumonia
SALEM, Or., Oct. 1, -(Special)- Harry Minto, son of Frank Minto, chief of police, was bedfast today as the result of Salem's annual outburst of hazing among high school students. It was said that young Minto is suffering from a high fever and was threatened with pneumonia. Jack Spong, also a victim of the hazing, suffered no visible injury, but was forced to spend most of the night wandering about the hills east of the city.
It was reported that the two boys were seized by a number of high school students, placed in automobiles and driven some distance from Salem, where they were left to find their way home.
Officers said today that an investigation of the hazing would be conducted.
