DISCREPANCY - According to the age reported at time of his death, he was born about 1811, but the 1860 census record places year of birth as about 1822, and family records place his year of birth as around 1819.

OBITUARY:
Died at the Marion County poor farm, Saturday night, Jan.25, 1896, of valvular disease of the heart, Wm. Morgan, aged 85 years. Deceased was a brother-in-law of [Albert] Marion Steen, of this city. His remains were interred in Rural cemetery on Sunday.
Daily Oregon Statesman 28 Jan 1896, 5:3.
Deceased had been an inmate for four years and has gradually been losing his physical and mental powers. He was buried Sunday at Rural Cemetery by Coroner Clough and Poormaster Stephens.
