NOTE son William Middleton Moores was born 2 Aug 1915 at Wallula, Washington [WWII draft registration card]. He and Jessie were living with Jessie’s widowed mother Mary F. Hurley at Portland, Oregon in 1930 census. Jessie was listed as widowed, which suggests she and Gordon had separated or divorced. Jessie died 16 Jan 1984 in Multnomah co, Oregon [ODI] and was buried in Riverview Cemetery

OBITUARY: 

LAST RITES HELD FOR G. C. MOORES; Services Held for Departed Oregonian at Salem
  Funeral services for Gordon C. Moores, who gained wide fame in football and track competition while team captain in both those major sports at the University of Oregon several years ago, were held Tuesday in Salem.  Mr. Moores died in San Francisco, where he had been living for the last few years.
  He was a native Oregon son, of pioneer parentage.  After graduation from the state university Mr. Moores operated an alfalfa ranch near Kennewick, Wash., and served Benton county in the Washington legislature.
  He is survived by a son, William Moores of Portland; a sister, Mrs. Albert S. Wells of Salem, and two brothers, Merrill B. Moores and Chester A. Moores of Portland.
