OBITUARY:
MULKEY - In Salem, at the rooms of Mrs. C. D. Snyder, in the Hughes block, Saturday, June 3, 1892 at 2:30. p.m., Bertha Ada Payne, wife of Albert Mulkey, aged about 30 years.
The deceased was a resident of Salem for many years and was a consistent member of the St. Paul’s Episcopal church during her life. She was a kind and loving daughter, an affectionate wife and mother, and a tried and true Christian.
About twelve years ago she, with her stepfather, C. D. Snyder, moved to their mountain home a short distance above Mehama and she resided there up to about six months ago, when she was taken with quick consumption superinduced by the grip, and came to Salem to be with her mother. In her last hours she was cheerful although enduring much suffering, and in her loss there are many who will be deeply grieved.
