OBITUARY: 
MESSER - At Salem, May 21st, 1885, Highen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. A. Messer, aged 2 years, 9 months and 23 days. The child took sick at Eola and was brought to this place for medical aid. Funeral will take place today at the residence of Mr. Parmenter at 10:30 a.m. The remains will be buried in the Odd Fellows' cemetery.
