OBITUARY:
NELSON -- At the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elliot M. Savage, 872 North Commercial street, Wednesday, December 30, 1914, at 5:40 in the morning, Mrs. Zella Savage Nelson.
She was 27 years old. Mr. and Mrs. Nelson came at Thanksgiving time from Seattle to make their home in Salem. She had been ill only three days, death having come from injuries of a fall received a week ago. She was born in Marion county, was a former Salem girl, having graduated from the Capital Business college. She was the wife of E. L. Nelson of Chicago, having been married May 12, 1913. She was a member of Rebecka lodge No. 76, Gervais.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Nelson is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. M. Savage; a sister, Mr. W. I. Fuller, of Salem; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. E. D. Walker, of Salem; an uncle, George O. Savage, of Salem; three cousins, Mrs. A. J. Lang of San Francisco, Mrs. Boyd Bridges of Oakland, California, and Miss Marie Martin of Salem.
The death comes as a sad co-incidence for just four weeks ago to the date her paternal grandmother, Mrs. Minerva Savage, died, and two weeks ago the grandfather, Lewis Savage, passed on.
The funeral services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. from the United Evangelical church on Cottage street, Rev. A. A. Winter officiating. Interment will be in the Odd Fellows cemetery.
