OBITUARY: 
OGIHARA - Henry I. Ogihara passed away January 24, at the residence in Independence, route 2. He was 58 years old. Survived by widow and daughter. Services will be held from the Clough-Barrick chapel at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28. Interment I.O.O.F. cemetery.

Independence - Henry I. Ogihara, Japanese, died at the Pankalla ranch south of Independence January 24 and the body was taken in charge by the Keeney funeral home. Ohihara was born in Japan August 1, 1882, and had been in the United States for over 30 years. He had made his home at the Pankalla hop ranch for almost 16 years as a labor contractor in the hop yards. He is survived by his wife and a daughter who live here. Funeral services were held from the Clough-Barrick company parlors in Salem Tuesday at 1 o'clock with Rev. Mizutani officiating. Interment was in the I. O. O. F. cemetery, Salem, with the Keeney funeral directors in charge. Capital Journal 28 January 1936 8:8

Rites Held Tuesday For Henry I. Ogihara
Henry I. Ogihara, 53, passed away at the Ogihara home at the Pankalla ranch Friday after a short illness.
Impressive Japanese services were held from the Clough-Barrick chapel in Salem Monday night with the final funeral service Tuesday afternoon at 1:00 o'clock with the Keeney funeral home of Independence in charge.  Rev. Mizutani of Portland officiated.  Interment was made in the I.O.O.F cemetery at Salem.
Mr. Ogihara was well known in the Independence district, having lived here with his family for nearly 30 years. A son, Sammy, 11, was drowned in the Willamette slough in March 1934.  He was born in Japan August 2 (sic), 1882.
Mr. Ogihara is survived by his wife and one daughter.
