OBITUARY:
Died - At his residence in this city, at 10 o’clock Friday evening, Mr. John Patterson, aged about 55 years. Funeral will take place Sabbath from the Presbyterian Church. Deceased was an old resident of Salem, and one of the founders of the Capital Lumbering Company, of which he has ever since remained one of the most prominent members. In his death Salem has lost one of her most enterprising and useful citizens and a man universally esteemed.
