OBITUARY: 
CHILD MEETS SAD DEATH While playing around its mother who was attending to the weekly washing, at her home six miles north of the city, On Saturday, the two year old son of Charles Potter, foreman of a hop ranch near Salem, was severely burned by falling backward into a tub of scalding suds. The child was rushed to Salem for medical attention and Dr. O. B. Miles was called. Despite every effort, however, the baby died yesterday afternoon at the home of a friend of the family on North Liberty street. The mother is prostrated. Funeral arrangements have not yet been made but will probably be held Wednesday in this city. Oregon Statesman 22 Spetember 1914 5:3
