Oregon), Cause: vomiting of pregnancy. Finley & Son, Portland, burial Salem, OR Jan. 2, 1912. W. T. Rigdon, Undertaker.

OBITUARY: 

DIED -- Powell -- In Portland, Oregon, December 31, 1911, Mrs. Jessie Munkers Powell, aged 33 years. Deceased was born near Salem, where she lived most of her life, a graduate of the Willamette conservatory of music. She was of a pioneer family, her father J. M. Munkers, having crossed the plains with his parents in 1847. Her mother, Romelia Gesner, was a daughter of R. A. Gesner, a pioneer of 1845. She was married in 1911.
Besides her husband and parents, she leaves three sisters, Mrs. Lulu M. Marquam of Portland and Josie Munkers of Brownsville; two brothers, J. O. and Gordon Munkers, of Brownsville, Oregon; also numerous relatives in and near Salem. Funeral services will be from Rigdon's undertaking parlors, Tuesday, January 2, at 11:30 a.m. Interment in I.O.O.F. cemetery.
