OBITUARY:
At home, in the Bank block, Salem, at 10 o'clock a.m. Tuesday, January 28, 1890, of pneumonia, Nellie A. Preston. Dr. Preston removed to Salem about three months ago, coming from Groton, Dakota, where they had lived a short time. Rochester, New York was their former home. Mrs. Preston was taken ill a week ago with influenza and afterwards pneumonia prostrated her. She was 42 years of age and leaves three children to mourn the death of a loving mother. The children are now quite sick with whooping cough. Dr. Preston in his sore affliction receives the sympathy of a large circle of friends. He is a member of the Masonic order and the members have kindly come to his relief. The funeral will be conducted from the residence Thursday at 2 p.m., the remains being interred in the I. O. O. F. cemetery.
