OBITUARY: 
At the Cooper boarding house, Front street, Wednesday night, December 5, 1894, of heart disease, J. Edward Pullen. Deceased came to Salem about two weeks ago to take a case in the state printing office. He was taken suddenly ill about 10:30 o’clock last night and a messenger was sent after a physician, but before the latter arrived Mr. Pullen expired. Early in the evening he addressed a letter to a friend in Portland. His mother resides at Olympia, Wash., and he has a half-brother named Oscar Woods living at the corner of Stark and Fifth streets in Portland, to whom a telegram was sent by Marshal Minto last night informing him of the sad occurrence.
