1900 OR CENSUS - Phoebe L. Rader, age 46, mother of 3 children 2 of whom are living at the time of the census, b. Mar 1854 in Iowa, is enumerated with husband James M., age 40, occupation saw mill laborer, b. May 1860 in Oregon, along with Bertha Hicks, identified as step-daughter [of James], age 22, widowed, mother of 1 child, b. Oct 1877 in Oregon, and Alice Hicks, age 4, identified as step-grand-daughter [of James] b. Apr 1896 in Oregon.
DISCREPANCY - DC and 1900 Census differ as to the month of birth.

OBITUARY: 
RADER--In Salem, at 8:30 p.m., April 6, 1912. Mrs. Phoebe Rader, widow of James Rader, who died at Eugene, December 3, 1911. Mrs. Rader was 58 years and six days old. She leaves to mourn her death, Mrs. Clara Mosier of San Francisco; and Mrs. Bertha Walker, a daughter of Philomath. She also leaves two sisters and one brother in Portland, a sister in Orenco, Oregon, and a brother in McMinnville. 
The funeral will be held Tuesday at 2:30 o’clock, p.m., from the undertaking parlors of Clough & Lehman, conducted by Rev. Davis Errett, assisted by Mrs. Bertha Blair. Interment will be in Odd Fellows’ cemetery beside the body of her husband. Weekly Oregon Statesman, 9 April 1912, 7:3.
